ASEA Product Information
In November of 2011 I started researching and testing a new biotech product called ASEA. It’s a heavily patented product in a totally new area of health science called ‘Redox Signaling.’ ASEA has only been available to the public for a little over three years now.
On the left side are links to some of the documents I’ve read recently on ASEA and redox signaling molecules. One of them, ‘Report for ASEA on VO2max Athletic Endurance Enhancement Testing’ was particularly interesting to me since it tested ASEA on athletes and gave very specific test results.
I tested myself with ASEA against these published results using a VersaClimber, (which is a unique indoor exercise machine that simulates climbing) and was amazed to find that I was able to produce nearly identical improvements in performance (relative to my personal baselines) over a roughly three week period. Up until recently these redox molecules were thought to be nothing more than the waste by-products of the mitrochrondria as part of the energy producing process (think exhaust emissions from your car while driving).
However, scientists are now discovering that far from being useless by products, these redox molecules are in fact absolutely essential to life. So what is ASEA? ASEA is trillions of stabilized redox signaling molecules in a bottle. Simple in theory but until very recently thought to be impossible to create outside the human body. Now, here’s where it gets interesting and where I first began to grasp the synergistic link between hbot and redox signaling molecules. The following paragraph is taken from our Pikes Peak Hyperbaric website, in the ‘About Us’ tab:
“Most illnesses and injuries occur, and often linger, at the cellular or tissue level. In many cases…adequate oxygen cannot reach the damaged area and the body's natural healing ability is unable to function properly. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy provides this extra oxygen…”
An essential part of the cell’s natural ability to protect/repair/replace itself (a process known as homeostasis) is for the mitochondria present in each and every cell in our body to do two critically important things;
- Produce ATP (fuel) to sustain that cell.
- Produce two sets of redox signaling molecules; one set to activate the cell’s powerful natural antioxidants (Glutathione, SOD, Catalase) to destroy free radicals, and one set to facilitate proper communication WITHIN the cell as well as BETWEEN all cells in the body to insure proper immune system functioning and to repair/replace damaged cells.
In cases where cells in our body are stressed or damaged and the mitochondria can no longer produce the proper amount of energy or the optimal amount of redox signaling molecules;
- HBOT will provide extra oxygen to help the cell repair or replace itself.
- ASEA will provide an immediate, external source of these redox signaling molecules (identical to those produced by the mitochondria), to further enhance and accelerate the cell’s ability to return to and maintain an optimal level of functioning.
The way ASEA works at the cellular level seemed to me to be very similar to how Mild HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) functions in healing the body. I had a gut feeling that combining ASEA with our Mild HBOT treatment might produce a 1+1= 3 effect for our clients.
We currently have a number of client usage studies under way at Pikes Peak Hyperbaric combining ASEA and Mild HBOT that address a wide variety of ailments and conditions that our clients are experiencing. At this point we are evaluating the effectiveness of ASEA combined with Mild HBOT treatments.
The addition of either therapy (Mild HBOT/ASEA) may help many of you that have directly experienced how effective Mild HBOT is for so many different conditions. However, it’s my opinion after studying the scientific papers, personally testing the product as well as reviewing early data from these in-house tests, that combining these two therapies together might provide a 1 + 1 = 3 effect in efficacy. Obviously individual results will vary.
In a perfect world everyone would have access to a Mild HBOT chamber and get an hour of Mild HBOT treatment a day for it’s health and anti-aging abilities. Taking Mild HBOT every day probably isn’t practical (or financially feasible) for most people. However, taking ASEA every day might be.
ASEA, like Mild HBOT, has demonstrated three primary effects;
- It helps to slow the aging process.
- It can strengthen the immune system.
- It can accelerate healing.
Chronologically, we all age at the same rate. Biologically however it’s a much different story as our bodies age depending on a number of factors; environmental toxins, diet, genetics, stress and exercise to name a few.
If you want to see a great example of accelerated aging due to stress look at pictures of Bill Clinton just before his open-heart surgery. Then look at pictures of him just a few months later. What you’ll see is a body that aged ten years in ten months. Look at any smoker with a 20-year habit and I guarantee you that you’ll see accelerated aging.
So if you accept the fact that normal biological aging can be ACCELERATED by certain external factors, I’d submit to you that biological aging can just as easily be SLOWED DOWN by other external factors.
One of the most important of these anti-aging factors is the efficient destruction of free radicals that naturally occur in our bodies as we age. The more pervasive these free radicals become, the greater the damage to our bodies and as a result, the faster we age.
Conversely, the more efficient our bodies are at neutralizing these free radicals, the slower we age. ASEA has been proven to up-regulate our body’s own super antioxidants, Glutathione, SOD and Catalase by 500% (read: ASEAreportAntioxident). That is an incredible difference.
ASEA and Immune System. Superior to Protandim?
So aging slower and living longer is a good thing, as long we’re healthy enough to enjoy it. And having an immune system at peak operating efficiency is your best insurance against disease and illness. Once again, redox signaling molecules play an absolutely critical role in the protect/detect/repair/replace operations that comprise our immune system.
Many of you know that I’ve been a health and fitness advocate most of my life. I eat well, exercise regularly and always take a high quality liquid vitamin/mineral supplement. ASEA however DIRECTLY increases these same antioxidants to a much higher degree because redox signaling molecules are native to the human body. Green Tea may be an all-natural ingredient but your body doesn’t contain Green Tea. Your body does however contain redox signaling molecules.

My son, Jesse, graduated from CSU with a degree in finance and immediately got a job with Charles Schwab. I was a proud papa and felt that my financial investment in his college education had paid immediate dividends.
